Incoming Freshmen Committee

One of the major priorities of the Booster Club, looking at West High School sports from the big picture perspective, is to answer the question “What can the Booster Club do to help promote and attract high school athletes from the athletic feeder systems, specifically Parkside Middle School, Cawley Middle School and St. Joseph Junior High School?”  We do not want to recruit students, as children and their parents need to decide what school is right for them, however we need to be more vocal and involved with the middle schools and the incoming freshmen, if we want them to be encouraged to be involved in athletics at West High School.

Ø  The Committee works on ideas to engage the Athletic Directors at Parkside, Cawley and St. Joseph schools, as well as the parents of these students, implementing those ideas, and then following up to ensure the ideas are actually working.

Ø  The Committee engages feeder systems into the middle schools, such as the Hooksett Youth Athletic Association, Manchester Youth Athletic Association, Hooksett Hurricanes Football and Manchester West Raiders Football, inviting them to events such as the Homecoming breakfast and parade.

Ø  The Committee is responsible for preparing a Booster Club presence at the incoming Freshmen Orientation to ensure parents and guardians are immediately asked to join the Booster Club to help make the sports programs at West a success.

Ø  The Committee is responsible for sending our new member greeting letter  to the parents or guardians of all freshman team athletes.
